First mission: Take Capie and their first Scottie son Daneel, fabricate and launch a spacecraft to the planet Mars. Avoid all wizards on Earth while doing so. Check. Now with the “easy” part over, they had the second mission to accomplish. The challenge? Survive on a frozen arid world, build an army of Scotties armed with powerful talismans, then return to free the peoples of Earth. Of course in the process, they will have to fight and defeat all the governments, armies, and evil wizards with their 40,000+ Oni warrior/slaves. This should be a cake walk, right? Paul has this feeling that he might, just might, have gotten in a little over his head.

Paul Armstead is your average American senior citizen and electrical engineer. He’s 61 years old, unremarkably unattractive, and a self-proclaimed science-fiction nut. He’s lived the American dream in drab, typical fashion without a single noteworthy event in his rather mundane life. So how does he end up fleeing from one end of the world to the other, dodging government dragnets, evil, nightmarish monsters known as the Oni, good wizards, bad wizards, beautiful women, spies, and wizardly spells? Well, it is entirely the genie’s fault....

Newlyweds Paul and Capie Armstead are also the world’s newest wizards in over 400 years. Sadly, the other wizards of the world, who control all of Earth’s governments, are trying to get rid of both bride and groom. Which is how Paul finds himself desperately learning how to combine technology with their newly acquired powers. He has no other choice, if he wants to save himself and his wife—and as long as he's at it, the rest of humanity as well! Paul has definite plans of how to deal with these power mongering wizards. Unfortunately, those evil lowlifes have no intentions of leaving the young couple alone long enough to complete any research. Between avoiding monsters known as Oni, bad wizards and doing near-impossible experiments of blending magic and science, Paul and Capie have all the makings of a bad day. But there’s one thing that they have learned: when a wizard takes on a responsibility, he does what needs doing.
